Leonberg, February 2013 – TECHART Automobildesign presents its personalization program for Porsche 911 Carrera 4 models.
In line with this premiere the new TECHART Exhaust System Racing with valve control and double centre tailpipes as well as the TECHART Noselift front axle lift system make their debuts. As a tribute to the Porsche models of the 1970s TECHART shows its interpretation of the 400 hp Porsche 911 Carrera 4S in legendary Emerald Green colour to public at 83rdGeneva International Motor Show from March 5 to 17 2013.
Design.
The new TECHART Exhaust System Racing with valve control and double centre tailpipes replaces Porsche’s standard exhaust system and gives the car a more aggressive and sporty look, which reminds of RSR models.
Controlled by the sport button at centre console the acoustic performance of the Porsche 911 Carrera 4S becomes clearly more sonorous and throaty.
The exhaust system is also drivable in closed condition. As sole manufacturer TECHART currently offers this valve-controlled exhaust system with double centre tailpipes for all Porsche 911 Carrera S models.
Also available: TECHART sport end mufflers Racing and sport exhaust system with valve control in combination with double flow TECHART Sport Tailpipes. Both systems are recognizable by black chromed or polished TECHART Sport Tailpipes in typical double-oval design.
TECHART Sport Tailpipes are also available for the standard exhaust system of Porsche 911 Carrera S and 4S, as well as for the Porsche sport exhaust system of all current 911 Carrera models.
By pressing a button at centre console the TECHART Noselift System enables 60 mm more ground clearance at front spoiler by raising the vehicle level. System can be activated when stationary and during the ride. Above 60 km/h the vehicle lowers again automatically. Due to the hydraulic unit’s compact construction boot capacity remains the same.
At speed of 140 km/h the two-piece TECHART Front Spoiler I with integrated splitter reduces lift on front axle of the Porsche 911 Carrera models by 5 kg. At same speed the TECHART Rear Spoiler II (out of three versions in total),
in combination with the TECHART Diffuser, generates additional 17.5 kg down force at the vehicle’s rear. Up to top speed this figure increases to 76 kg.
Two Aero Wings, integrated into the front air inlet vents lend the 911 Carrera models a dynamic shaft outline. TECHART Side Skirts as well as trims for headlights and side mirrors set visual highlights all-around.
For Porsche 911 models TECHART offers the TECHART Formula 5-spoke light alloy wheel in 20- and 21-inch sizes, as well as the TECHART Formula III 5-twin spoke forged light alloy wheel. A weight advantage of up to 15 % compared to a cast wheel and thus a reduction in unsprung mass contributes directly to an increase in driving dynamics. Beside standard and individual colours, the TECHART Formula III forged wheel is also available in new bi-colour design and burnished glossy smooth finish.
Interior.
The TECHART in-house manufactory transfers the prestigious exterior colour of the Carrera 4S with precise craftsmanship into the vehicle’s interior. Whether door sills and back rests for black-leathered sport seats Plus in Emerald Green or door panels in black leather and green decorative stitching, all vehicle details take up the colour theme consistently. As it is for the ergonomically shaped TECHART
3-spokes sport steering wheel. Covered by black leather and Alcantara with green stitching, as well as integrated TECHART paddle shifters in black matt finish with green symbols, it forms a visual symbiosis with black and green TECHART Dials for instruments and Sport Chrono.

It goes without saying that the Porsche Classic experts will once again be on hand to provide advice and practical assistance to visitors regarding the preservation and maintenance of their historic vehicles and will provide information on the availability of Porsche Classic original spare parts. Especially noteworthy, for example, is the much coveted “orange” Porsche bonnet badge of the 911 models from 1965 to 1973, no longer available since 1974. 2012 will see it being re released again.
Complete wings, classic Fuchs wheels and many other parts besides – presented in a large high-bay storage system – demonstrate that Porsche Classic takes a close interest in preserving these sports car treasures.
The specialists’ repertoire comprises the repair, maintenance and restoration of classic Porsche road vehicles as well as the provision of original spare parts.

It’s Porsche Camp4. 30 Pfaff Porsche enthusiasts about to learn all about oversteer and understeer on ice–in brand new Porsches.
(Courtesy of Andrew Taylor)
For the uninitiated, Kai, the German Porsche Factory driver, explains the differences between oversteer and understeer.
“Ven you understeer, you zee vot you hit. Ven you oversteer, you hear vot you hit.”
Kai,the German Porsche Factory driver explains that a car handles on ice just as it does on tarmac.
The difference is that you reach the limits of adhesion on tarmac at speeds in excess of 150 km/hr. On ice you reach those same limits at 30 km/hr.
(Courtesy of Andrew Taylor)
Professional driving instructors coach you the entire day. Drive around racecourses carved from ice, swinging cars through slaloms, learning how to drift in large circles on a skid pan.
(Courtesy of Andrew Taylor)
Driving on ice requires very little input from the steering wheel and a lot of input from the accelerator pedal. When you get it right, you are effectively swinging the car sideways from corner to corner, like the pendulum on an old grandfather clock, in a constant state of oversteer.
The drivers spin out of control more times than one would care to admit, as the instructors stand at the corner exits laughing and doing pirouettes like clumsy ballerinas as drivers slide around the course.
What a blissful day for everyone left smiling. A great way to make fast friends who share a unique understanding of how Porsche cars behaved when driven to the limit.
German tuner TechArt has officially released their program for the 2012 Porsche 911 (991) ahead of its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show 2012.
The newly developed exterior design for the Carrera and Carrera S models features a series of parts. The two-part front spoiler with an integrated splitter fits perfectly into the design of the new sports car and allows the front to sit even closer to the ground. In addition, two aero wings are integrated into the front air inlet vents.
At the rear you will find a fixed rear spoiler with a trailing edge and an integrated third brake light. The rear diffusor and side skirts on the wing of the vehicle complete the exterior range. Subtle trim panels for the front headlights as well as side mirror panels are the final touch.
A new exhaust system with valve control including EC-type approval, as well as dual oval tubes, provides an improved acoustic sound track. The new 911 rides on TechArt Formula five-spoke light alloy wheels in 20 or 21 inch. Additionally, Formula III forged wheels with five dynamically designed double spokes are available in 20 and 21 inch. This wheel offers a weight advantage of up to 15 percent compared to a cast wheel.

On a hot summer day, nothing can be more refreshing than an ice cold soft drink. From Pepsi to Coca-Cola, from Orange to Root Beer, sparkling water to seltzer, there are numerous soft drinks to choose from. Soft drinks are sold in every gas station, every restaurant and just about every place you go today.
But where did this Porsche theme Pepsi six pack of carbonated delight come from?
Brazil of all places and with a Porsche “transportation” theme!
For any Porsche enthusiast and Porsche collector this is one more thing to add too the shelf. Unfortunately, this maybe hard to find as the promotion was back in 1997 in Brazil. Pretty cool though. I love it when Porsche and various companies do theme promotions like this. Now if they would only do more marketing like this, I would be first in line to purchase!
And a little more “Pepsi Porsche” triva… from what I remember according to the Porsche race car driver/actor James Dean‘s official site, James Dean’s first professional acting job was a 1950 Pepsi commercial “in which a group of teenagers dance around a jukebox singing ‘Pepsi-Cola hits the spot‘” a rare James Dean video. Now that’s a classic.
The six pack includes:
Pepsi Porsche 911 Carrera azul (blue)
Pepsi Porsche 911 Carrera Cabrio azul (blue)
Pepsi Porsche 356 B (black)
Pepsi Porsche 911B amarelo (yellow)
Pepsi Porsche 911 Turbo vermelho (red)
Pepsi Porsche Boxster vermelho (red)

Two of the largest and most profitable soda corporations is Coca-Cola Company and the Pepsi Cola Company, which is now referred to as PepsiCo by the company. Both Coca-Cola and PepsiCo invest tens-of-millions of dollars per year in worldwide marketing campaigns. By visiting their websites (www.cocacola.com and http://www.pepsi.com), one can see that the two rival companies are invested in very diverse products. Even though Coca-Cola and PepsiCo are targeting the same markets, they approach their marketing strategies in very different ways.
Rare motor racing variants such as the Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 “Safari” will also be on show.
Starting Today: New Special Exhibition “911 Identity” in the Porsche Museum
Stuttgart. For more than four decades, the Porsche 911 has been deemed an automotive icon and the very epitome of the sports car. That means that the launch of the new Type 991 is an important event for the Porsche Museum Stuttgart as well.
As a curtain raiser for 2012, the new generation is being welcomed as part of a major special exhibition from 31 January to 20 May, 2012 under the banner “911 Identity”.
The automotive retrospective of the special exhibition is rounded off by documents from the company archive that have never previously been on public display.
More than 700,000 911s have been produced in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen since it was unveiled in 1963. The recipe for its success is its uniqueness, because the 911 combines apparent contradictions such as sportiness and everyday practicality, tradition and innovation, exclusivity and social acceptance or design and functionality like no other car.
The special exhibition also showcases wheel rims from 1963 to the present day.
No wonder that each of the now seven 911 generations has written its very own success story.

As a result, the Porsche Museum is exhibiting all the 911 generations, from the “original 911” to the new Type 991 – against the backdrop of the prevailing mood of the relevant decade or year in which the sports car icon came to market.
The Porsche Museum offers one hour themed guided tours through the special exhibition.
Rare motor racing variants such as the Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 “Safari” or Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid will also be on show. In addition, to unique technical exhibits and cutaway models from Weissach, the visitor will also get to see one of the new 911 generation “Erlkings”, before being able to slide behind the wheel of a Porsche 911 Carrera at the end of the special exhibition.
